Pittsburg, PA- Netflix Movie starring Denzel Washington Now Casting Black Females

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is a 1982 play – one of the ten-play Pittsburgh Cycle by August Wilson – that chronicles the twentieth century African American experience. The play is set in Chicago in the 1920s, and centers around issues of race, religion and the historic exploitation of black recording artists by white producers.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming on Thursday, August 15th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Producers are seeking the following types:

NEEDED: AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALES AGES 18-65. Loose, natural hair. The year is 1927. No twists, dreads or braids and hair must all be natural color. No lash extensions, nail polish or acrylic nails.

MUST BE AVAILABLE ALL MORNING, DAY AND EVENING ON THURSDAY, 8/15 FOR SMALL SCENE ON “MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM”. Filming near Downtown Pittsburgh. Pays $10 per hour for the first 8 hours and time and a half after that.
